What is a SippyPal?

The SippyPal is a safe, quick and easy way to secure your baby’s bottle, sippy cup or baby accessory to the harness of any highchair, car seat, stroller, bike seat or shopping cart.  When designing a product for babies and toddlers you have to keep in mind that children are very curious. If something is strapped around their bottle, sippy cup, stroller or car seat, the child is going to try to find a way to remove it. Therefore we designed the SippyPal to be removed only by an adult.

The SippyPal has a patented push-button buckle with a non-slip surface on the strap that tightens perfectly around any bottle and sippy cups for a secure, snug fit. We also use a loop system with a slide-release buckle that secures to the safety harness of a highchair, car seat, stroller, bike seat or shopping cart, etc. to prevent the bottle or sippy cup from being thrown to the ground. The SippyPal is adjustable, enabling the strap to extend as a child grows so that they only have enough to take a drink.

Why we say "It's the one that works!"

We invented the SippyPal because we could not find a product that was quick and easy to secure on a cup or bottle without falling or slipping off.  Our son Sean was constantly throwing his cup off his highchair, in the car, grocery store. If he was holding a bottle or sippy cup, it was going be thrown on the floor. We purchased a number of products that were advertised to keep a child’s cup from being thrown to the floor. This is what we found:

• All of the products we purchased were awkward to put on. We had to fumble around with Velcro, D-rings, rubber cords and clips that were not easily and quick to install and would not tighten properly. The SippyPal has a patented push-button buckle that allows you to secure it to any bottle or sippy cup in less than 2 seconds and remove it even quicker. The SippyPal can be removed and installed on a bottle, sippy cup and on the safety harness of a car seat, high chair, stroller, bike seat, etc. with one hand. This is very important especially when you are holding a child with the other.

• None of them would stay on a straight or tapered cup. We could not use just any bottle or sippy cup we wanted to. We had to use an hour-glass shaped cup or bottle, or one that had some type of ridges in order for their product not to slip off. The SippyPal uses a non-slip surface along with the push button buckle to keep it from slipping off any bottle or sippy cup even if they are straight or tapered.

• Two of the brands that we purchased used Velcro to secure the strap to the cup or bottle.  After using them a few times, our son was able to pull off the Velcro tab, remove the product and throw the cup on the floor. We could no longer use the product and it had no other use. As most kids do, our son has shoes with Velcro tabs instead of laces, so he figured it out quickly. The SippyPal is almost impossible for a child to remove. While it is easy for an adult, a small child does not have the dexterity and force to push and release the push-button buckle.

• None of the products offered a way to shorten or lengthen the strap so the child only has enough to drink. For the safety of your child, the SippyPal allows you to adjust the length of the strap so your child only has enough length to drink from a bottle or cup.

• The other products used cloth material that would easily stain, and were not easy to keep clean. The SippyPal is made of polypropylene. This material is strong, stain resistant, mold & mildew resistant, acid resistant, non-toxic and cleans up easily.

• All of the other products required both hands to install and remove from a cup or a safety harness. The SippyPal allows you to install and remove it from a cup and safety harness with one hand. One handed operation was a necessity.

• And some products were just too ridiculous to explain.

We reviewed what the other products lacked and began developing a few of our own designs.  After trying a few out on our son, we finally came up with the SippyPal.  It was “Baby Sean approved!”

We live in a throw away society because most products have only one purpose and when its job is complete the item is thrown away. We wanted to create a product that had more than one use, more than one life. Virtually every product you purchase for your child will be given away or more likely thrown away after your child has outgrown its use. Not only is it a waste of your money but it is also a waste of resources.

Not with the SippyPal.  This is the only child’s product, which we are aware of, that has a second life and can be used for many, many years to come. You could say the SippyPal is an eco-friendly! How can you use your SippyPal? Your imagination is the limit.
